Kumkum is a painter and adept at pencil sketching, fabric, and oil painting. She is also extremely good at making portraits of people. And, people in her locality began to approach her to make portraits of friends and family.

Kumkum claims that people like giving her paintings as gifts and she sees selling her artwork as a lucrative business opportunity.

She claims that she didn’t always think that her art would sell and could be transformed into a business. “ The Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP) that I undertook during the pandemic, helped me look at my hobby as something through which I could generate income,” she adds.

From developing her business idea, to offering support in executing a business plan, and finally launching the business on a scale that she could sustain it; the YEP offered support every step of the way.

Kumkum now hopes to pass on this knowledge and information to other artists. She hopes to support other artists start up their own small enterprises or sell their art on digital platforms.
