Charanpreet Kaur’s Channi Di Rasoi currently is a home-based business. Charanjeet claims that the inspiration for the enterprise came from her role model, celebrity chef Ranbir Brar. Charanjeet hopes to follow in his footsteps and open an outlet as soon as possible. She offers a host of delicacies in a variety of cuisines from chat to Indian chinese. She has made a steady profit of Rs.1500 per week over the months and receives support from her father, who always cherished a dream of opening his own restaurant.

Charanpreet claims that apart from support from her family, the Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP) provided her with key skills to run a home-based cloud kitchen successfully. “ We had an activity in the program called the ‘business challenge’. We had to create a business plan and run the business for four days to see if it was practical. I felt like I was already living my dream in those four days,” she adds.

The YEP training program helped her build a prototype of her business and test it on a small scale. Charanpreet was also able to present her business idea to investors  based on her prototype or pilot. “ It helped my confidence immensely and gave me the confidence to forge ahead,” she adds.
