Voices from Youth Employability Training

My name is Jamuna and I am studying in the 1st year B.com degree course. I heard about the Sukrupa training program at my local community centre. My father works as a mason and my mother works as a house keeping staff in Reliance Fresh.  My main reasons for joining this course are to improve my English speaking skills and knowledge of computers. I have already worked for 1 year in the Retail sector with the Aditya Birla Group’s More supermarket chain. I worked as a trainee and floor assistant. 

This course is really helping me improve my English speaking skills. This is one area I really want to work on as it is essential for any kind of job in the future. I already have a good understanding of Retail I.T equipment such as billing and cash machines but not much knowledge about other daily computer functions. I am going to learn more common computer usage skills here.

After I finish this course I am determined to get a Supervisor job in a supermarket. I feel with my improved English and Retail knowledge I should get a Supervisor role. I plan to continue my studies and work in the evenings. My goal in life is to write the IAS exam one day and make my family proud. I want to join the IAS as I feel it’s the best way to serve the community. Giving back to the community is one of my main goals in the future.
